MMPC

Mt Macedon Petanque Club [MMPC] was incorporated on 9th October 2008.
The club commenced with 12 members which quickly increased to 25.
Members are from Gisborne, the surrounding Macedon Ranges region and the north western suburbs of Melbourne.
The club members are very active and many look forward to the competitions that are scheduled on the VPCI Calendar.
The Macedon Ranges Shire Council provided the location for the home site adjacent to Jacksons Creek, just a few minutes' walk from the business centre of Gisborne. The site was formally the Gisborne Caravan Park. Initially the existing car park was converted to terrain upon which the games commenced. In 2011 a new terrain was constructed consisting of 7 lanes. The old terrain is still utilised during competition days to increase the number of pistes to a maximum of 16 if required. The grounds have a beautiful outlook, being surrounded by lush green lawns and mature European and Australian trees. White granitic sand walking trails abound in the area with passers by often stopping to watch.
Currently some club members hold coaching and umpiring positions.
In the past the club has had Australian and State representatives in events such as the Trans Tasman Championship and the World Junior Petanque Championships in Tunisia.
Mission Statement
To foster an environment to expand the sport of petanque to all age groups, including families
To provide for the coaching and fitness of members through qualified coaches
To encourage members to play at various venues and to include education
